# Create your account

Sign in to Assay and get ready to connect your AI app.

Your Assay account connects your AI app to tools and keeps track of its calls. You can start with a free call before adding funds or allowing payments.

## Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open sign-in

Open Assay and choose **Continue with email or wallet** on the **Sign in** page. The same sign-in creates your account if you are new. There is no Assay password to remember.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Sign in

Choose one method in the window that opens.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Email" %}
Enter your email address and complete the email verification shown in the sign-in window.

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Wallet" %}
Choose your wallet and complete its sign-in request. Use the same wallet when you return to Assay.

<figure><img src="https://141356682-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FAhFBOJnejgrUxXsfscIS%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-78577ce700d3f0c9f4b6dc21d2b6402096aa7a75%2Fcreate-your-account-3.png?alt=media" alt="Select your wallet window with MetaMask marked among the available wallets"><figcaption><p>Choose the wallet you use for Assay.</p></figcaption></figure>
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Assay creates a wallet for accounts that do not already have one. It also creates **My agent**, the starting identity for calls from your AI app. You can keep that name.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open Get started

Open the account menu and choose **Get started**. This checklist follows the basic path: connect your app, make a free call, add funds, then let your agent pay within limits.

You do not need funds or payment permission to complete the free call.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Check it worked

You can open **Get started** and **Controls → Connect** without returning to **Sign in**. Your account is ready to connect an AI app.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.goassay.ai/use-tools/get-started/create-your-account.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
